Life is Unpredictable; Trust Jesus
Read Psalm 23.
Every day has the potential to be a blend of joy and sorrow.
Tragedy can erupt suddenly -- When loss pierces our day without warning that we may be paralyzed in grief. Even then, Christ is taking the initiative to draw us toward the comfort that God knows we need.
(from Pamela's Sketchbook)
There can also be glorious outbursts of life and promise on a day of devestation. One of my pastoral colleagues speaks about the wonder of the moment when she was standing in a hospital room at 9 am on September 11, 2001 holding a newborn infant while watching the attack on the World Trade Center. Looking into the eyes of the newborn this pastor reminded everybody around that God's promises of Life are authoritative and will prevail.
You may have some idea of what is facing you today -- but everything as you know it can change, literally, in a heartbeat. Where will you place your trust?
Prayer: Jesus, loving shepherd, guide and friend, may I always turn to you for the help I need to live my faith.
