Thursday, First Week of Lent
God Always Gives More Than Enough
From Nouwen: "God is a generous giver, but we can only see and enjoy God's generosity when we love God with all of our hearts minds and strength."
How true. I remember the "aha" moment when Gerald May, one of my mentors at the Shalem Institute said: "Whatever has your full attention at any given moment is, for that moment, your God.
Sometimes we are preoccupied with what we don't have, or with what we think must happen for our lives to be full. With our minds set upon the deficits of our lives our attention is NOT upon the abundance of God which is being offered by God every moment.

Loving God with all of our hearts, minds and strength is a choice we must make. God invites and supports that choice, but it is still ours.
Prayer: Lord, help me to love you with all my heart, mind and strength so that I can receive all the bounty of your love.
