Stirrings

December 18.... 7 more days....  We are in the beginning phase of the last phase of our approach to the One who has been approaching us since before the beginning of time... before there even was time.  Voices of pray-ers and preachers and singers and readers will echo the psalmist....

Stir up your might,
and come to save us!

Two short lines from Psalm 80 -- if you stay with the psalm for a while, you may begin to sense the increasing momentum of hope and trust that moves you closer to the heart of God. In that center, you are restored...the ultimate safety provided by being completely re-established in unconditional relationship with the Creator of all that is.

Words are inadequate to describe the sensation and the possible....no... the promised results of God's plan to gather us into God's Heart.  Even now you are standing in the presence of the psalmist's prayer:  "Stir up your might, Oh Lord..."

The immeasurable might of the Lord will claim you if you place even one toe upon the path that is etched in time and space by God's "stirring"....  Just as substance is drawn toward the center of a whirlpool, your being is drawn into the restorative Love of God.  Although you may choose to stand apart from the force of God's approach, God has promised, in Christ, that your place in the pool of Love is assured and established forever.

What is preventing you from free falling into the whirlpool?
