The eyes of the world turn to Chile to participate in the unspeakable joy of the rescue. One by one the miners step from the rescue capsule...as of this writing, 9 rescues, 9 power surges of gratitude...We see the faces of those who have been working diligently to develop the safest way to bring the miners back to the surface (I can't even begin to conceive of being 1/2 mile below ground)... We hear the waves of reunion, and we share the unspeakable awe in of the miracles that occurred below the surface...and the miracles that will continue to radiate in the days ahead...
It won't be easy to reclaim life...not for the miners or their families... there will be perils and pitfalls of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual twists and turns. Relationships will be transformed in unpredictable ways...
Today, though, let's not fast forward to the worries of tomorrow...let's be together in praise and thanksgiving for the story that is unfolding today... This current day saga of rescue is connecting us all, in ways that we see easily...and in deeper ways that aren't as visible.
May the peace and joy and unspeakable hope unleashed in Chile during these hours gather us all in...may it magnify in some specific way your vision and understanding of the oneness we all are given in Christ. Amen!
How does the story of "rescue" touch your life?

I am reminded of how all of heaven rejoices when one of us makes it home.
