Every so often an image or metaphor is given that vividly describes God's action. Here's the one that I received yesterday.....
It concerns matching funds....
Employers (like Progressive Ins. Co.)and fraternal organizations (like Thrivent) often provide matching funds for benevolent causes. You offer x number of dollars and they match your contribution. The recipients get twice as much as you yourself offered.
When we offer ourselves ... our presence, or our skills, or our love... for the good of the other... God's love is also unleashed. The result is an exponential growth of love.
We can turn away from deficit thinking...
When we are called by Christ to serve others, we don't need to be fettered by concern that we don't have enough time or talent or energy to accomplish the objective.
Give freely of what you have for the good of the other. God will match it beyond your broadest imagination.
