Lord, I envy the enthusiasm of the early disciples. They could not keep from speaking about what they had seen and heard. But I have not seen or heard it, and when I speak about your love, it sometimes sounds as though I have learned it out of a book. Yet I have felt you: sometimes in moments of anguish and incompleteness when I know that I am made for something beyond this; sometimes in moments of transcending joy, when I feel the glory of being loved. Give me words to do justice to my own experience.
This is the opening prayer on today's Sacred Space Posting. It hits home, doesn't it?
This faith that we proclaim isn't to be proven by any scientific method. In fact, its power rests in its unprovability. It defies logic. It evades empirical data. The more you think about it the more it draws you into the state of mystery...of unknowingness.
And at the center of the mystery is God's heart...
At the center of that heart is God's love for all that is...including you!
Blessings to you as you pray ... and as you proclaim what it feels like to know that Christ is with us.
