I have no good answer for that. When I read todays lesson from Acts I once again marvel at the frequency of angelic visitations that have intersected with daily life. It doesn't always happen in the middle of the night when you are sleeping (or trying to sleep), praying or wishing to pray. It seems that it occurs in moments when God has something to say that relates to something God wishes. It could be a vision, I suppose, but my sense is that it is more or a stirring of a possibility. It may also be something that seems to come "out of the blue" that appears to be unrelated to what YOU thought was your plan for the day.
The ability to perceive God's instructions is related one's faith. Rooted and grounded in the trust that God is actively interested in what you do and how you are, you can expect that God has something to say about your day. Listen. Look. Open your heart and mind to nudges and whispers that emerge as simply ask "What is God up to with me?"
Do not worry about getting the message right on your own. As you step out (even ever so tentatively) God stays with you, supporting you and giving you all you need.
