The day before Christmas

It is the day before Christmas. Early in the morning I was awakened with the lines from "O Little Town of Bethlehem"..."Oh little child of Bethlehem, descend to us we pray. Cast out our sin and enter in, be born in us today." My mind stands in awe every year at the transformation depicted in that verse. My faith yearns for that moment, because I know that imperfection of all types has obscured the purity of Christ in my life. My heart leans toward the hope it proclaims, delighting in its message.

I have heard sin explained as anything, absolutely anything, that serves to separate us from God. So....with the entrance of Christ into our hearts, the barriers between the us and God have been removed...cast out by the Living Loving Light of God in Christ.

But today is the day before Christmas. All day long you sit in the waiting room. We linger prayerfully in time and space, waiting for the news that the baby is born!

Your heart is in the last stages of preparation....what else must you pray about and for? His birth is imminent!
