After I have been blessed with some truth bestowed in prayer, scripture or contemplation, what am I to do? Sometimes nothing is to be done but rest gratefully. At other times there may be some specific action to be taken. The action may may seem to be confined to my own personal routines, but ultimately the action relates to others.
None of us lives in a vaccuum. Everything we do, everything we say, everything we are, affects something or somebody else.
Read again Ephesians 1 As you read St. Paul's words, you are given a glimpse of the amazing (and continuous) process of faith formation.
As you pray, and as you receive the truth about yourself and the way you move about in community, you are always being invited to participate in the mysterious plan to be drawn into God's love. Every bit of God's intention for you and your life has been in place since before time began... before there even was time.
You aren't alone in this... God's loving intention is to draw in everyone! Your service to others assists in teaching others about the amazing power of God's love unleashed in Christ. Your service to others also enhances your OWN awareness of how God lovinginly transforms you and draws YOU in!
Doing something in response to emerging truth is important... but please don't miss the invitation to savor how you ARE as you respond to prayer. Seek somebody with whom you can speak regularly about what you are noticing. Somehow the articulation of what is happening as we are transformed helps us to see more clearly how our part in God's Mysterious Plan is unfolding.
