When you pray with no desire other than to spend time in the presence of God, you are consenting to the loving gift that the creator of the universe intends to bestow. In my most recent posting regarding Mental Health Awareness, I invited you to consider the poignant truth which expands in your heart when you pray. There may be feelings of tension or tenderness. Or there may be a sensation of release -- an acknowledgement of that which you have set aside for too long.
When truth emerges in this fashion, I encourage you to stay in the attitude of prayer rather than moving on to something else. Staying with that tenderness allows for Christ's abiding presence of healing to take action.
As you move from consent, to tenderness, to the transformation of life (deeper awareness) you may find yourself crying out loud that you are "new" today. Read the most recent posting on "Praying the Mystery" (use the link provided).
Can you get a sense of how deeply you can be drawn into God when you gratefully accept whatever it is that God desires for your healing and re-creation?
