Starter Prayer: "Good and Generous God, why do you have such a hard time giving yourself away? You want to share your very self with us, your own divine nature, and we will not allow it." (From Wondrous Encounters by Richard Rohr)
Jesus said "I am in the Father and the Father is in me" John 10:38. And we talk about being "in Christ" all the time, don't we?
Sometimes I think we say that with as little thought as when we throw out comments like "how are you?" as we pass people on the trail never stopping to really pay attention to the answer or what asking the question implies. (that is, "how are you?" implies some interest -- but 90% of the time that is not what we mean at all) The words are simply filling the air.
So, when we talk about being "in Christ" logic says that also means that we are "in the Father". Furthermore if we are "in the Father" and "in Christ" then the Father is "in us".
Why do we hesitate to accept God's initiative to integrate God's own nature with ours? Is it too good to be true? What happens if you accept God's desire to share God's self with you? How does your image of God create you in this moment -- right now?
