Making Our Lives Like Christ's
I asked a friend who is a pastor how she has been these days. We all know that Holy Week can be a mental, physical, emotional and spiritual marathon for church leaders, and I was not surprised when her quick and clear response was: "ready for a break."
Of course, what she meant was that she is looking for relief from the wall to wall planning and preparing for the sequential worship services of Holy Week. Yet, I couldn't help but reflect on the parallel between her comment and today's invitation to be BROKEN.
Think about what it means for the Body of Christ to be broken and given to others so that they may be fed. How does life change when you hear the "snap" of your will or your preferences for your life? This "break" allows you to give away whatever you have for the good of somebody else.
Are you ready for a break?
(from Pamela's Sketchbook)
Prayer: Gracious and loving God, help us live as people chosen, blessed, and broken as we become food for the world.
