FERN

For the next few days I will be attending the FERN (Faith-based Ecumenical Resource Network) in Baltimore.  The goal is of the conference is to connect leaders of several denominations with folks who are called to the ministry of faith formation as spiritual directors, life coaches and mentors.  This is a first time event, and I anticipate there will much to be learned. 

Some possible questions might be: 

      How can the church encourage (and yes, require) the commitment to ongoing faith formation practices for leaders?

      How can we pay attention to the variety of "spiritual styles" among church leaders? 

      How can congregations and judicatories be encouraged to support and facilitate the health of leaders (at all levels, mental, spiritual, emotional and physical). 

These have just scratched the surface!  This is all about the health of the church and the vitality and vigor of pastors and other spiritual leaders in the church.
