Election results?

Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with stupid and senseless controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to everyone, an apt teacher, patient, correcting opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth, and that they may escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

2 Timothy 2:22-26

As election day unfolds, I pray that all of the candidates are enfolded in God's grace. Regardless of the outcome of any particular race, at the end of the day the hope would be that we can hear the counsel: Have nothing to do with stupid and senseless controversies. Be a servant, kindly to everyone, an apt teacher, correcting opponents with gentleness.

Gentleness doesn't preclude clarity or commitment to a position, even when facing its opposite. Gentleness means civility, mutual respect, and a focus upon a goal of peace and justice for all.

Let us hold all... of the newly elected and all of the ones who did not win... all of those who voted and all who did not...all of the issues and all of the offices.. in prayer before God.

God's peace to all....
