God is not foreign to my freedom. Instead the Spirit breathes life into my most intimate desires, gently nudging me towards all that is good. I ask for the grace to let myself be enfolded by the Spirit.
These words precede the prayer on Sacred Space .
As my eyes fell upon the words I was stopped in my tracks, no longer in a hurry to move on to the next portion of the prayer.
It blows my mind and fills my heart to the brim .... It is as if the Holy Spirit is meeting me in mouth to mouth resuscitation.
The notion that the giver of all good things meets me in the region of my desires, even the ones that evade my awareness, can stimulate awe, even a sort of embarrassment.
But only for a while....
Because it is true that if I lean into that breath, my yearning is met with God's Wisdom that says: "I have made you for me... I have known of the deepest desires of your heart all along... let me work with them and nudge you towards the good that I desire for you!"
How do you experience God's nudging? How might you become if you trust the movement? What is your response?
