Human Love Reflects God's Love

I can't love others perfectly.  No person can love me perfectly.  Yet we are called to love one another.

Given these truths, I see again the importance of taking time each day to soak my heart in God's presence.  As I pray, I envision myself immersed in God's love.  I want to be saturated, filled to the brim with that love.

Then as I walk through time and space, when others press in upon me, God's love oozes out.  Where my love falls short, God's love within me can take over.

As I get in touch with my own need to rely upon God to be able to love others, I have a deeper understanding of other people's limitations.

God's perfect love in our midst enables us to experience fullness of heart.  

Prayer:  O God, help me not to demand of others the perfect love they cannot give.
