Core Healing

As I wandered through the woods after this week's North Coast Ice Storm, I appreciated the frozen beauty. Each twig and bud glistened in the winter sun. The light upon the crystal surfaces enhanced ripples and crevices. My heart was uplifted by the magnificence of it all. However, I was also aware of the sagging, drooping configuration of many of the trees...weighted down with the icy burden.

The landscape remained encased until the external conditions changed. Rising temperature and stirring air eventually released the shrubs, trees, and grasses, and the landscape gradually returned to normal.

Sometimes we are encrusted with the layers of life's challenges. We may feel immobilized as we wait for a situation to change. Our faith counsels us to lean upon Christ's presence at the core of our being. As we pray, we can experience the healing balm of the Holy Spirit flowing through our veins. Christ's wellness expands from within. In His new life, we may shed whatever is weighing us down.

The vitality of Christ at the center of our life provides core healing which eases our burdens of fear and anxiety. We don't need to wait for conditions to change, because Christ's presence is dynamic and transformative deep within! External situations may be frozen...encased in uncertainty, illness or broken relationships, but we can rely upon the new life in Christ which pulses at our core!
