If you aren't already visiting the Sacred Space link, I encourage you to do so. It offers seeds of scripture and prayer that echo throughout the day.

Today two phrases claimed my attention:
God enters human relationships (families) like a bomb! Christ lands in the heart and then His love explodes to transform the way we see each other! The fallout from the "bomb" which is Christ can linger in the family atmosphere and dramatically affect the direction the family takes in the years to come. During the holiday season we may move with heightened levels of fear and hope, especially with regard to human relationships. The impact of Christ's birth can help level those expectations with radical truth and love.
The Good News of Christ "grafts" onto whatever "good" exists. Wow...what a vivid image! Have you ever studied about grafting trees or plants? The process involves two separate plants. A branch cut from one plant is fixed to another plant that is growing (this is the host plant). The result is a new plant that produces fruit with qualities of both plants grafted together. Imagine the possibilities before you and your family when the qualities of Jesus become grafted onto your family tree. What would it look like if even the smallest qualities of goodness were magnified by Christ's powerful presence?
Particularly in this final week before Christmas, it is important to cling with heart, mind and soul to scripture and prayer. Just as the magnificent action of God is approaching a climax, the world is inviting an escalation of its own kind. We may be rushing more, spending more, eating more, drinking more, and expecting more....s l o w d o w n.
Find time and space for the sacred stillness where you can clarify the vision of your heart.
