So often the weekdays draw us into activities that seem unrelated to the experience of Sabbath. Although the Good Shepherd seeks us out, we often are preoccupied and therefore ignorant, wandering about in the herd of the working world.
Try to be intentional about listening for His voice. In the midst of what is on your schedule for this week there will be some open moments when you can choose to pray rather than automatically filling those open times with "something." Watch for those moments, for they are gifts --
standing in line
stopped in traffice
cancelled appointments or classes
times when, for no apparent reason, a pause occurs in the activities at hand
Look for the wisdom, counsel, safety and perspective that is always there through the loving presence of the Good Shepherd.
Finally, if you have more time to spend on the internet, take a look at the ELCA prayer resource, which includes audio files! http://www.elca.org/prayer
